Sunday Funday – More Like Sunday No Funday

Maintaining this publication is made possible by my day job. Keep in mind, I don’t do SHADEtxCraft for money, so a little funding is necessary by a Monday through Friday job. Needless to say, that sometimes carries over to the weekend and gets in the way of us being able to have fun on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

This picture sums up my entire Sunday. Completing training for the free tax preparation my company does for individuals who cannot afford to have their taxes done by a paid preparer. Granted, one of the things I love about what I do is the fact that we serve the local community in a way that very few other companies do. However, it does take away from the ability to sometimes do things that would keep this blog a little more interesting.

So this article is about my Sunday No Funday that I had at home. Thankfully, I had some nice Hops & Grain A Pale Mosaic and Alt-eration to tide me over for the day. There’s no way I could sit at a computer for close to seven hours doing work-related stuff and not have a few beers along the way.

What makes Hops & Grain’s beers so enjoyable during a day at home is how sessionable, flavorful, and refreshing they are. Switching from the IPA to the Altbier allows me to transition from the hoppy and citrus flavor of A Pale Mosaic to the German maltiness of the Alt-eration.

Ultimately, I know I’m only going to have a couple more weekends off before we take a slight hiatus for our trip to Thailand, so I can’t wait for the next time I get to enjoy a full weekend at a new brewery or a new bar.
