Beer Of The Week – B-52 Bourbon Breakfast

This was an easy choice since I had just been to B-52 Brewery and got this wicked awesome bottle of delicious bourbon barrel-aged nectar of the Gods. Plus, I’m lazy and I drink what’s good and in the fridge, so lay off!

What needs to be said about B-52 Bourbon Breakfast. It’s their normal Breakfast Stout that is placed in bourbon-barrels and aged for about a year. The normal version has a rich roasted malt flavor that gives it a chocolate and roasted coffee flavor. Cold brew coffee that is added at the end gives it that much more of a kick. Once you put that beautiful concoction into a bourbon barrel, you start to see some of the flavors mellow out to finish with a more boozy and vanilla taste.

At 10.6% ABV, the beer is very sessionable and an easy day drinker. Wait, no…that’s not right. While I’d like to be able to drink multiple of these every day, if I have more than one, I’ll be in bed, shaking the house with my snoring.

Do you like chocolate? Good. Put it in your face. Do you like coffee? Good. Put it in your face. Do you like bourbon? Good put it in your face.

The moral of the story, put it in your face.
