Can a beer be sexy? Lakewood sure thinks so and it may be an accurate description. As they mention, this is “curvy in all the right places” and I believe I understand exactly what they mean by it.
This isn’t a beer you can (or should) guzzle. You should enjoy it. Each and every sip. Savor how it hits you lips.
Now that I’ve gotten the creepiness out of my system, let me describe what makes this beer great. It pours very thick and almost syrup-like. To me, it tastes a lot like a Heath bar with the toffee flavor and a bit of vanilla in the finish. At 9.1% ABV, it is a very nice beer to enjoy in a snifter. However, I recommend not drinking the beer straight out of the refrigerator as it tastes better when it’s been warmed by your hand cupping the snifter.
As a beer that has won best beer in Dallas by the Dallas Observer, it’s clear this beer is beloved by many in the Metroplex. But with a 98 rating on RateBeer, many outside of the Metroplex also appreciate its beauty and classic taste. It’s like the girl next door all grown up. Now she’s a bombshell, but she’s still down to earth and hasn’t forgotten those who appreciated her growing up.
